Sound needs to be experienced. But until then, the sound of the XA POWER amplifier can easily be anticipated. You just need to have a look at the amplifier. There is this power. Tangible in the massive materials the heavy casting the strong handles the uncompromising outline. And nothing is for show. Everything has its function. No redundant controls no gadgets no ballast. But rather the visual conclusion of the technological clean-up. Naturalness and strength. The XA series sounds as it looks and thus it exactly follows up on the Avantgarde Acoustic promise: Purity meets Performance.
Signal current always consists of a positive and a negative half- wave. Therefore, the signal always has to go through the zero point at which it is briefly interrupted and cross-zero distortion occurs. This is a problem all conventional amplifiers battle with. In XA Series amplifiers, it is solved by the DC flow circuit. The circuit, for which a patent has been filed, floods the entire sig- nal path with direct current. What sets this technique apart is that the stable power current also flows through the volume control and the input selector via another electronic switch (patent pending). This was previously deemed impossible. But we implemented it in the XA Series.
All electric power supply systems are faulty. The current they supply fluctuates and is contaminated by digital communication signals transmitted over the electric circuit. These types of faults affect the sound. The supply voltage of the XA Series power amplifier passes through both primary and secondary filters, after which it is actively regulated and made available in huge energy storage units within the circuit. Noise components in the preamplifier are completely blocked as a result of galvanic separation via a battery power supply unit.
Microphonic effects are another eternal source of error in amplifier construction. Brought to resonate by sound waves, electronic components cause vibrations that distort sound. Our solution is as radical as it looks: a casing made of just two parts. An inner part and an outer part. Both massive and single-cast. In a nutshell, this is a revolutionary casework concept which has the convenient side- effect of dissipating heat evenly.
No cross-zero distortion. No grid impurities. No resonance. And these are merely the most significant sources of error overcome en route to creating the XA Series. It was our longing for a faultless amplifier that drove us. The result is a sound that can be considered the discovery of the high-end scene.
