An air core type MC cartridge that precisely reproduces the sound field.
AT-ART9XA is an air-core type MC cartridge with a Shibata needle mounted on a boron cantilever. ART in the product model number is an abbreviation for Audio-Technica Reference Transducer, and it is used only in special cartridges. The air core type is not affected by magnetic distortion, so a natural tone color and precise sound field expression are possible. On the other hand, the output voltage is difficult to obtain, but with this product, the output voltage has been improved by newly designing the coil winding frame, and 0.2 mV (1 kHz, 5 cm/sec) has been obtained.
High fidelity transmission using PCOCC for the coil. PCOCC does not generate grain boundaries in the transmission direction, enabling more pure transmission.
Features
Moving Coil
Dual moving coil with high separation and wide response. The dual moving coil system arranged in an inverted V shape achieves high separation and wide response, achieving clear sound localization. Minimize distortion.
Neodymium magnet and permendur yoke with dramatically increased magnetic energy. The energy of the magnetic gap where the generator coil is placed is optimized by the magnetic circuit designed exclusively.
Output Voltage
Improved output voltage by newly designed armature (coil reel). By reviewing the armature design, the cross-sectional area of the generator coil is increased by about 20%. It has acquired an output voltage of 0.2 mV.
Shibata Needle
Shibata needle and 0.28 mm solid boron cantilever. Shibata needles are well-established not only in the high range but also in the low and middle ranges, and boron cantilevers with excellent response characteristics.
Build
Machined aluminum base as the basis for stable regeneration. Machined aluminum base for the base parts that support the magnetic circuit and vibration system. Supports stable playback. Hybrid body that suppresses unnecessary parasitic resonance.
Aluminum housing is combined with high-rigidity resin to suppress unnecessary parasitic resonance. We are trying to improve the sound quality.
Install
Easy to install, the cartridge body has screw holes, and the head shell or shell-integrated tone arm can be attached with only two screws (no nut required).
